Aldara is used to treat certain skin problems. These include pre-cancerous problems (actinic keratoses), a certain type of skin cancer (superficial basal cell carcinomas), and warts on the outside of the genitals / anus. Treatment for these conditions can reduce complications from them. Aldara Cream belongs to a group of medicines called – an immune response modifiers. It is believed that the work helps activate your immune system to fight these redundant skin problems.
How to use Aldara Cream:
First read the manufacturer’s information sheet provided by your pharmacist before you start using Aldara cream, and every time you get a refill it. Ask your doctor any questions that may interest you. The use of this medicine in the problem area only once a day, usually 2-5 times a week for 6-16 weeks or as directed by your doctor. The dosage and duration of treatment depend on your particular skin problems, and response to therapy. This medication is used regularly in order to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember the techniques, use the calendar to mark days and you will be using a medicine every week. Aldara is used to clear areas and dry skin. Use a new package of cream each time. Apply as directed by your doctor just before bedtime. Wash hands with soap and water after each use. Do not cover the treated area with bandages or other waterproof material. Aldara Cream side effects:

Aldara Cream precautions:
Tell your doctor if you have an allergic reaction. Try to spend less time in the sun. Genital / anal warts are caused by a virus called human papillomavirus (HPV). To reduce the risk of spreading HPV to others, and always use effective barrier protections (eg, latex or polyurethane condoms, dental dams) during all sexual activity. Condoms, dental dams, and diaphragms may be weakened by the cream, and therefore they can not work as well to prevent pregnancy or the spread of HPV or HIV. This medication has not been studied in children under the age of 12 years. Aldara is not recommended during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known whether this drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
